Ingredients:

  • 350 grams of textured dried soy meat
  • bell peppers or peppers
  • 2 medium onions
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 sprigs of fresh coriander
  • 25 grams of chives or Chinese onion
  • English sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika, cumin, oregano, chili powder, and turmeric (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Oil onoted or with annatto

Preparation of the vegan ground "meat"

    Step 1:

  1. We start by placing a pot of water in the kitchen, when it boils turn off the stove and add the soy meat to hydrate it, let it rest for at least 5 minutes.

  3. Then wash them in a colander until all the yellow color is removed and then dry it very well with a clean cloth to remove excess water. We will notice that the soy meat has puffed up a bit and we will have it ready to cook.

  5. Cut the onions, peppers, cilantro and chives into medium squares and grind the garlic cloves (NOTE: if you prefer the soy meat to be juicier, blend the vegetables, ideal for pasta)

  7. In a pot add the oil and wait for it to heat up, then we add the vegetables to fry, first the garlic, we must be careful that it does not burn, then the others until they brown.
  8. Step 5:

  9. Add the soy meat and stir with the sauce, add the Worcestershire sauce and other seasonings to gain flavor and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes.

  11. In case it is drying, you can add a little water or more oil.
